If it’s a night out on the town with all your friends looking for an adventure, why not the movies? The smell of popcorn and the roar of the projection screen make the movie theater a perfect outting! Let’s take a look at what’s playing at the movies this month.

In The Martian, Matt Damon stars in this space flick about Mark Watney who is stranded on mars. Mark Watney is lost on Mars after a storm, leaving his crew to believe he is dead. However, Mark is alive, and now must wait for his crew to find him. The problem is he has little food, and even fewer supplies, and so it is up to him to use his skills and wit to survive the barren world.

From the makers of Harry Potter comes a fantasy adventure movie, called Pan. Pan stars Levi Miller, and Hugh Jackman. Peter is only 12 years old, when he is suddenly whisked away to the wonderful world of Neverland. Now he must battle the harsh and mystical world, all while facing Blackbeard. This is from the original movie, Peter Pan. I, for one, am excited to see how it turns out.

The Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials is based off the Maze Runner. Scotch Trials is the second book of the series. The first movie is about a group of teens trapped within a never ending maze, constantly changing and full of hazards. In the end, they escape the maze, only to realize their adventure has just begun. Now, in the second installment, the group will have to face the harsh world of the outside, full of traps, hazards, and monsters.

So whether it’s a sci-fi adventure, a fantasy epic, a horror, or even a romantic comedy, the movies are always a great place to go. As always, be careful, be kind, and remember to turn off your phone in the theaters.
