This year’s Austin City Limits Music Festival took place on October 2nd through 4th and finished up the following weekend of October 9th through 11th at Zilker Park in Austin, Texas. The musical lineup included several well-established artists such as: Foo Fighters, Drake, The Weeknd, Twenty One Pilots, ASAP Rocky, The Strokes, and Alt- J. These performers put on great shows and kept the crowds, of al- most 450,000 on their feet the whole weekend. The concert-goers spent most of their day at the park due to its start time of 11am and its end time of around 11 pm. Most people had sunglasses on and Camelbaks in hand, usually rushing to surround the next stage’s performers. To help with the heat, ACL provided not only free water refilling stations, but also water vapor fans and hammocks. (Not to mention the several large trees people sat under, too.) And to make sure that each and every person didn’t miss a beat, selfie sticks, Go-Pros, and thousands upon thousands of i-Phones were in the air all day long. Funny or Die productions even stopped by for a bit to document some of the performances.

However, there is a lot more to ACL than just the great music. Along with the mini-concerts, people get the chance to try hundreds of different types of local foods. From burritos to snow-balls to ice cream, ACL provides any type of local dining straight to the park. So, no need to worry about seeing your favorite artist on an empty stomach.

After chowing- down, people also have the oppurtunity to purchase some merchandise. People have their choice of tons of different items including: t-shirts, shorts, hats, and sunglasses. But it doesn’t stop there. Along with their own merchandise, there are still many different types of designer clothing sold, too. Some local artists even put their art up for display and purchase.

This year’s festival was deemed extremely successful, like it is every other year. It provides a great, family fun environment, with some really great music in the mix. Along with the great dining and cool souvenirs, people love the fun, energetic environment. This year’s festival was a huge hit and next year’s concert starts on the weekend of September 30th and ends on the weekend of October 11th.
